Your Meal Plan Isn't Boring - You Just Need These 3 Fixes

How to Actually Enjoy Your Meal Prep (Even on a cut!)

Your Meal Plan Doesn’t Have to be Boring, Bland, or Repetitive.

There are some people who could eat the same thing every day and not get sick of it (like me!) and there are other people who get sick of eating the same thing every day.

That is where these tips will come in handy because no matter which of those you are, switching it up sometimes is key to staying on track!

Whether you’re eating for a certain goal (ie. weight loss, muscle gain) or just looking to eat healthier, how you prep your food matters just as much as what you prep.

Here are my top 3 fixes to help you enjoy your food again…

1. Spice It Up

Don’t underestimate the power of seasoning. Try different marinades, spice blends, and sauces (watch portions if tracking). No matter what food it is you are cooking, there is always a way to elevate the flavour and taste!

  1. Chicken Breast:

    Boring: salt + pepper

Greek-style: Lemon, garlic, oregano, olive oil

  2. Potatoes:

    Boring: Salt + Olive oil

Garlic Herb: Garlic powder, parsley, rosemary

  3. Ground Beef:

    Boring: Plain in the pan

Taco meat: Cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic

2. Change Cooking Methods

Different cooking methods can make the taste of the same food taste SO different. Grilled chicken tastes totally different than air-fried or oven-roasted.

Rotate between cooking methods

Some ways to switch it up;

  • BBQ

  • Slow Cooker

  • Air Fryer

  • Stovetop

  • Oven

Even if you are using the SAME ingredients, it can change the taste!

For me, BBQ for my meats is my favourite means of cooking them! Stovetop for my eggs so I can make them perfectly runny 😄

3. Mix and Match Your Staples

Rotate your protein (chicken, turkey, salmon, eggs, steak), carbs (rice, potatoes, wraps, pasta), and fats (avocado, nuts, oils) to create variety. Think of it like building a bowl—just change the components.

Final Takeaways

You don’t need 30 new recipes…

You just need your base ingredients with creativity.

Meal prep should support your goals and your taste buds. You’re more likely to stick to a plan that actually tastes good—whether you’re on prep or living your best everyday fit life.
